Appointments

Doctors hold surgeries at both Rickmansworth and Chorleywood throughout the week, offering full services at both locations.

Consultations with the Gade Surgery doctors are by appointment only, which can be made online (sign up to the NHS App) or by calling the surgery. Urgent cases will be seen the same day; otherwise you will be offered the first available routine appointment. If you request an urgent appointment, you will be offered a five minute emergency appointment and the doctor will only be able to deal with an urgent medical problem requiring immediate attention. If you wish to raise any other matter with the doctor you will need to book a routine appointment. Overseas visitors can be seen by appointment.

Telephone Calls

Our lines are open from 08:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 18:15. They can be very busy in the early morning, so for non-urgent matters we suggest ringing later in the day. To find out results of tests, please ring after 14:00. To speak to the doctor, please ring between 11:30-12:00.  Should the doctor not be available, the receptionist will put you on the list for a telephone call back, which may take up to 48 hours.

Chaperones

When being examined by the doctor some patients feel more comfortable with a chaperone. If you wish someone else to be present during examinations, please tell the receptionist so that this can be arranged. The doctor may also offer this service if an intimate examination is necessary. At Chorleywood surgery due to low staffing numbers this may not always be available and so examination would have to be re-scheduled. If a chaperone is used they would be required to watch the examination.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
